When Warda realised that she needed to supplement her income a few years back, she never thought then that starting up a small business would result in the successful construction and interior design enterprise it is today. Since 2004, Decordent Living Building Partners has progressed from a simple interior design and renovations business to a full-house construction consultancy that handles large residential & corporate projects. While it has been a tough and challenging journey, Warda has stuck by her vision and that was to be a completely self-sufficient multi-disciplined construction business (that fosters empowerment and job creation opportunities) through projects they secure.
With a vision to create job opportunities within the small to medium sized businesses, we currently outsource certain labour aspects of our business. This enables us to appoint or employ previously disadvantaged citizens. Our focus is to provide all home décor and renovation requirements to individuals and corporates. This also includes window coverings, kitchen designs, flooring, painting, lighting, burglar bars & gates and any additional finishing elements required.
Market research shows that there will be an even higher percentage of unemployment for our future leaders, being our youth of today. The South African Government has introduced a programme, which is targeted at developing small and medium sized businesses enabling them to employ previously disadvantaged South Africans.
The focus of this programme is aimed at securing job opportunities for South African youth, ensuring stabilisation and a workforce equipped for the already rapidly growing economy. It is in lieu of the above that we intend to operate on this basis of empowerment. We want to generate revenue, which inevitably boosts the economy, but, more importantly, is a means of job creation and boosts SME business through the sub-contracting of certain labour aspects.
